Singapore Art Museum was one of the stops on International Museum Day 2006’s City Stories trail today, so I thought it’d be a good idea to check out the museum and programmes.

The crowd seemed quite fascinated by the Fiction @ Love exhibition. I kept over hearing them say how nice Ai Yamaguchi’s work would look on their walls.

Heh, need interior design ideas? Go to SAM!
The Fiction @ Love Storyboarding Competition got participants to create their own three panel comic strips. The best three entries each win a Nokia N70 mobile phone.

Titled ‘My Husband thinks he’s Superman’… this sure looks like a winning entry to me.

It’s not hard to imagine that it was most probably inspired by Henry Dono’s ‘Superman dan Wanita.’

I really liked Tang Mun Kit’s Encased Objective and Sculptures (Encasement Series 2) as it was a nice display of what were really simple items.

These inverted dolls were quite baffling though.

Ringwraiths taking a breather from trying to kill Frodo. (Hey, we’re all free to intepret it the way we want, right?)

I have to admit I don’t really get art, but kudos to SAM for making it accessible to common folk like myself.
