A party at the Singapore Art Museum was just something I had to check out. And I must say, SAM’s never looked quite so funky before.

The bouncer gave us funny little plastic things to certify us legal. Should I be happy that I still get my ID checked? : p

At the SAM courtyard, it was people, people, and more people.
And no wonder…
The SAM’s 100+ year old facade had been given a facelift.

And the Fiction@Love exhibits had been turned into a videoshow. The cute little man-child in this photo is from Run Run Run by Ki Soo Kwon.

Of course, the free drinks were a crowd pleaser.

Red, white or sparkling?
But the highlight of the night had to be the cosplayers. Cosplay is a Japanese subculture that centres on “dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, or Japanese pop music bands” (from Wikipedia).

Not really a manga fan so I don’t know what characters they are. Can anyone tell me?
We just had to get trigger happy with them too!

My favorite was this samurai though:

I’m looking for a man, all across Japan, just to find, to find my samurai… - Anyone remember this song, circa 1999?
I wonder who won the Nokia N70? : )
Edit: The winners are Mr. Samurai, Zeth (black hooded guy in group picture), and the girl with white hair (group picture, kneeling). Ganbatte!
The Off the Wall Party was held on 28 May in conjunction with the Fiction@Love exhibition as well as International Museum Day 2006.
Fiction@Love is an animamix art exhibition and runs till 2 July at the Singapore Art Museum.
