In conjunction with the Singapore Art Museum’s Fiction@Love, Dreams@Work is a bilingual cultural forum that “seeks to explore the impact of pop, cyber culture and art on youths and will look at the images and information which are derivatives of this fictitious world, examining its influence of cultural trends and inter-personal relations”. The free-admission forum is held at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Level 3, on June 17 from 2 to 5 pm.

Panelists include:
Wee Tian Beng
Wee Tian Beng is the writer and art director of the original The Celestial Zone Series. The first full-time Singaporean Manga artist to break into the Taiwanese and Hong Kong Manga scene, he was invited to portray the novels of famous writers like Ni Kuang and Jin Yong through Manga with The Adventures of Wisely and The Return of the Condor Heroes respectively. In 1997, he received “The Asian Comics Prestigious Award” in Seoul, South Korea at the Asian Comics Conference.
Baey Yam Keng
Baey Yam Keng is the Founding President of The ETCeteras, a theatre company in Singapore. A Member of Parliament, he has produced many productions, such as Papa Not At Home (Singapore Chinese Cultural Festival 1996), Want United People (Singapore Arts Festival 1998), Madam What’s Next (Singapore Chinese Cultural Festival 2000) and First Date Last Match (Dec 2005).
Lee Wei Song
Lee Wei Song,founder of the Lee Wei Song School of Music, is a top name in the music industry in Asia. Ever since he and his twin brother Lee Shih Song broke into the Singapore art scene 22 years ago with their song The Awakening, Wei Song’s list of accomplishments has been a dazzling one. Not only has he produced albums and written songs for foreign artistes such as Jackie Chan, Miriam Yeung, Julia Peng, Aaron Kwok, Gigi Leung, Daniel Chan, Na Ying, Jolin Chai, Angela Zhang and etc. Wei Song’s famous works include Stefanie Sun’s My Desired Happiness, Gigi Leung’s Disgruntlement, Jacky Cheung’s I Waited Till the Flowers Withered, Jolin Chai’s Masked Confession and theme songs for a great number of TV dramas and movies from Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Victoria Lu
Victoria Lu is the creative director of Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai, China and the curator of international touring exhibition, Fiction@love – Ultra New Vision of Contemporary Art. Victoria is also professor at the Fashion and Media Design Graudate School of Shih-Chien University in Taipei. She has also curated Paradiso d’Amore, (1st International China Animation and Comic Festival), Visions of Pluralism-Contemporary Art in Taiwan 1988-1999 and New Art. New Tribes, Taiwan Art in the Nineties.
Chua Chim Kang (Moderator)
Associate Editor of MY PAPER
Chua Chim Kang is the Associate Editor of MY PAPER, the Chinese free newspaper published by SPH since June 2006. An outspoken and insightful journalist, Chim Kang has since been invited to join several committees and panels including the Censorship Review and Publication Review Committees. He was also a former board member of the Singapore Art Museum.
