Free entry to museums on National Day!

To celebrate Singapore’s 41st birthday, seven of our museums will be open to the public free!

Asian Civilisations Museum

Free admission from 9 am to 7 pm
What better way to wish Singapore a happy birthday than by writing a card - a GIANT one at that? Pen your birthday wishes to Singapore at the ACM. It’s also your last chance to catch the mobile homes exhibition before they pack up and move on!

Memories at Old Ford Factory
351 Upper Bukit Timah Road
Free admission to gallery from 9 am to 5.30 pm
At the site of the British surrender to Japan in World War II, learn about life in Singapore during the war and memories of people who lived under the Occupation. Free gifts for visitors while stocks last.

Museum of Shanghai Toys

Free Admission not offered, but…
Get a $10 Seoul Garden voucher with every two tickets purchased. This vintage toy museum boasts an extensive collection of Chinese toys and is definitely worth the visit! Visitors born on either 9 August or in 1965 will also enjoy a 10% discount in the retail store. Visitors born on 9 August 1965 will enjoy a 41% discount!

National Museum of Singapore

Free admission from 10 am to 6 pm
If a chance to take a look at the newly-restored building isn’t enough. check out a display of men’s fashion from the 1970s to present in the Stylo Mylo exhibition.

NUS Museum

Free admission from 10 am to 3.30 pm
View the winning photographs of Behind the Seen a photo exhibition organised by the NUS Museum and the NUS Photographic Society. Pick the brains of filmaker Eric Khoo collaborator-writer Wong Kim Hoh as they talk about their new movie Be With Me. Also get to watch the movie itself in a special screening. Let your creativity run wild and take part in Potluck Painting, or construct your own vision of the Singapore city skyline in Building Singapore. Win gift vouchers by playing the Base Station game and take part in the various Dream Workshops throughout the day.

Singapore Philatelic Museum
23B Coleman Street
Free admission from 9 am to 7 pm
Take part in the Fun Quiz to learn more about the wonderful world of stamps. Have some shading fun with stamp engraving plates and create your own picture to take home. Take part in the Philatelic Fun workshop and learn how to make cards, envelopes and bookmarks using stamps.
