RIP Elizabeth Choy

The news just broke that war heroine and former legislator Elizabeth Choy passed away this afternoon at 2 pm. Ms Choy was 96. During World War II, Ms. Choy was tortured by the occupying Japanese forces for giving aid to British prisoners of war by passing along food and messages. She survived the war, and later became Singapore’s first woman legislator and after that to head the school for the blind.
