OS X/Camino TEST POST - Oi Yee on the Ridge

One of the Raffles Museum's Pasir  Panjang guides has been walking the ridge since the late 50's; and here are the pictures to prove it!

TEST POST - NOT FOR PUBLICATION - Kok Oi Yee is a Senior Volunteer Guide with the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research at the National University of Singapore.

One of her many volunteer projects concerns the heritage of Pasir Panjang or Kent Ridge. During heritage walks, visitors are introduced to the flora and fauna of Kent Ridge Park, the Battle of  Pasir Panjang, life in Pasir Panjang in the 60's and the southern islands.

The latter is partly based on Oi Yee's life as a child for she grew up in this area and has enjotyed nature in the area since the late 50's! The Raffles Museum's Pasir Panjang Heritage site includes a special page called Oi Yee on the Ridge and we include one of the photos here.

It's of a group of youngsters from Crescent Girls, Gan Eng Seng and Victoria School taking in the sights on Kent Ridge circa 1959. What a carefree group!
