A step by step guide on how to blog for the Sgcool contest!

We’ve had overwhelming response from you since the New Kids on the Blog started on 20 July 2007!

Just a gentle reminder that if your blog post does not pass the “quality control” of our moderators, it will not be published.

Not to worry! We’re aware that many of you are not sure what the moderators are looking for in this contest. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to post an excellent blog entry that will blow your readers away!

Step 1
Click here to go to the Sgcool website.

Step 2
Not sure where to find images of the artefacts? Simply click on the “Quick Find” drop down menu. Here you can see the different categories of artefacts for you to choose from. Select a category that interest you.

Step 3
You will find images of various artefacts appearing on your computer screen. Choose an image that catches your eye! Decisions decisions decisions…

Step 4
The artefact you’ve chosen will appear on your screen. Read the description carefully. If you like what you see, right click on the image and save it in your computer.

Step 5
Now that you’ve chosen the artefact of your choice, you have finally got the license to blog! Go to the Sgcool contest page here to get started.

Step 6
Read the contest page to find out more about the contest. Remember to read the Terms & Conditions!

Step 7
Click on “sign up now!” or click here to sign up as a yesterday.sg member. Fill up your particulars and click “submit”. You will receive an email notification. Simply click on the link in your notification and hey, you are now a yesterday.sg blogger!

Step 8
Go to yesterday.sg. See “Member login” on the right-hand column? Key in your username and password to start blogging.

Step 9
Go to “Member options” on the right-hand column and click “Post an entry”.

Step 10
You’re now at the entry page. Use the image you got from the Sgcool website (refer to Step 4) and start blogging away!

What are the kind of blog entries the contest moderators want to see?

Ideally, the blog post should contain a little research information and some of your thoughts relating to the artefacts. Number of words should be more than 50, up to a maximum of 200. This is a sample of how the entry should look like this (please ignore the garbage text):

At vero eos et accusamus et iusto odio dignissimos ducimus qui blanditiis praesentium voluptatum deleniti atque corrupti quos dolores et quas molestias excepturi sint occaecati cupiditate non provident, similique sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollitia animi, id est laborum et dolorum fuga. Nam libero tempore, cum soluta nobis est eligendi optio cumque nihil impedit quo minus id quod maxime placeat facere possimus, omnis voluptas assumenda est, omnis dolor repellendus. Temporibus autem quibusdam et aut officiis debitis aut rerum necessitatibus saepe eveniet ut et voluptates repudiandae sint et molestiae non recusandae.
