The 29th of June was a big day for a newcomer like me - it was my first Friends of yesterday.sg (FOYer) gathering!
The first thing that we did when we arrived at Good Morning Yesterday’s home was to start snapping pics in his secret garden. Virtually every FOYer had a camera in hand…an unfortunate affliction of being a blogger!
Once inside, we did some proof reading of Wee Kiat’s book. Not!
We had the privilege to preview Wee Kiat and Victor’s new book on stamps. I must say their book is full of interesting and knowledgeable content put together with large pictures for easy reading!

So how does the conversation flow when you have close to 14 people from diverse backgrounds who spend more time ‘talking’ online to one another than in person?
What FOYers talk about outside of work…
1) Ways to take pictures…. without permission
2) Driftwoods and plants
3) Playing the harmonica (courtesy of harmonica extraordinaire Wee Kiat)
4) Playing the double bass for next gathering (from the talented Ocean Skies )
5) New stamp book
6) BigFoot
7) Music/Ringtone/the strange Gatsby ad
Web Design Issues (‘cos we want to make yesterday.sg as nice for our readers as possible lah)
And how could we not include…yesterday.sg!

I was surprised to see many pieces of driftwood at Chun See’s place. He’s used it for fish tank decoration and I think, for plant cultivation as well. Dear fellow Foyers, if you are after driftwood, do not hesitate to contact me (attempt at marketing my family’s driftwood business!)
With lots of wine, music and song, my first FOYer gathering came to a close. If you’re keen on getting such perks then come join us as a FOYer and spread the word!

Hi Friendly Admin, thank you for the post. I think it is logistically easier if I just leave a video clip of me and my friends playing on the double bass here than to have to play it at the next meeting. As such, I shall not promise anything...
