This picture taken in the late 19th century shows a Malay village.
When I look at this picture, I am lost for words– for a myriad of reasons.
I am lost for words because I feel very proud because Singapore has changed alot since the days depicted in the picture. I don’t get to see any more villages in our island.
I am lost for words because I feel we must consider ourselves very lucky to live in standard HDB flats now while the people in the
olden days lived in uncomfortable house made of attap, wood etc. with insufficient clean waters and electricity.
I am lost for words because I cannot imagine a toilet without a flush.
I am lost for words because I am busy counting my lucky stars.

Ibrahim, this sounds like a poem 2 mi u noe? I like this kind of poems, stories or... maybe history.......... :P

Hello!This text look good and i can understand wad it is all about.I am very happy and lucky to leave in HDB flats now,because in the past almost all of the houses are small and not very stable so i hope everyone wherther poor or rich,Please cherish what they have in singapore because we will never know what will happen the next day.
