Welcome back to a new and improved Yesterday.sg as this site nears its third birthday!

And yes it certainly does look different - doesn’t it?

With an emphasis on dates and the backward-moving clock in the masthead, the site was designed to take you back in time.

And the changes - they are far more than just cosmetic.

Many new features have been incorporated and these are aimed at getting you involved and allowing you to have your say.

Our very popular blog posts section has been upgraded. Registered users can now bookmark posts of their choice by clicking on the I can relate to this icon. Instant polls can also be tagged to certain posts for a quick gauge of public reaction.

We’ve added a discussion platform called Talkback and a Chatbox for users to talk with one another about any heritage-related topic.

Then there are Highlights and Events to let you know what exhibitions, talks and other activities are coming up with a heritage theme.

History buffs - do take a look at out Today in History section. We’ve tried as far as possible, to customise it with local events. You can even search for the dates of your choice - like maybe your birthday?

For some light quirky reading, just click on the Did You Know section. We are sure you will find something new there.

The highlight of this portal must surely be Heritage Television. Each fortnight, a new video will be uploaded showcasing Singapore’s heritage, our history, culture, museum happenings or the local arts scene. We hope readers too will contribute their home videos of interesting historical places they have visited here in Singapore or maybe you just want to share a sentiment of old Singapore and of the days gone by.

There’s much more to discover, but we’ll leave it to you to seek these out  as you cruise the site!
