What do you get when you throw in a lively medley of Joget, the very best of Peranakan food and a colourful Chetti Melaka fashion show? The Peranakan Museum’s (TPM) first anniversary, of course!
Over last weekend, TPM celebrated its first birthday with a big party with a large turn-out of over 16,000 people. Amidst all the festivities, The Little Nonya stars, Pierre Png and Jeanette Aw left many star-struck with their exclusive appearance.

Heritage TV was lucky enough to catch up with the friendly duo as they offered insights into what its like being Peranakan and shared some behind the scenes anecdotes of The Little Nonya. What do Cheng Tng and Kamcheng have in common? Watch the episode here.
Buzzing with activity, TPM’s first anniversary was a riot of colours.

What’s a fiesta without scrumptious food?

Nonya kueh in a myriad of colours.

The Babazaar displayed an array of uniquely Peranakan items. From intricately designed tiles, silverware and stylish kebayas - there was plenty of shopping to do!

The musically-inclined Peranakans showcased their penchant for song and dance throughout the festival. And it’s not hard to see why they’re so merry!
