50 strong years, a journey of health promotion

During my childhood days, I used to hate it when the dental nurse came into the classroom with a list of names. For the next few seconds, I would pray to the teeth gods that my name wouldn’t be on that dreaded list again. That’s the fear I had for all things dental. The discomfort that was often felt while the nurse checked my teeth and the numbness which followed after the five to ten minutes of trying to open my mouth as big as possible made me dread every single visit.

Now that I have grown up, I am grateful for those visits which helped me avoid serious tooth decay and those other gross toothy diseases.

Health Promotion Board celebrates 50 years of health promotion with an online retrospective and a contest.
