For those who have missed the second season of Channel 8’s 2008 Amuse Me! TV series - Amuse U!, you’ll be glad to find the four 30-minutes episodes uploaded right here on yesterday.sg!
Amuse U! is a joint production by National Heritage Board and Media Development Authority of Singapore, which aims to reach out to new audiences and promote a museum going culture in Singapore. Each episode features two to three museums and is centred on a specific theme.
The first episode features Singapore Philatelic Museum, Mint Museum of Toys and Museum of Shanghai Toys as we see the world through the toys and stamps exhibits. Even healthy living has its history as we watch the second episode which features Healthzone and the Sustainable Singapore Gallery which is located at Marina Barrage. Not forgetting our multi-cultural heritage, especially living in the multi-ethnic Singapore, as we look at National Museum of Singapore, The Peranakan Museum and Malay Heritage Centre in the third episode. And finally, we unravel the mystery of art at NUS Museum, Singapore Art Museum and 8Q sam in the last episode.
Get started on your Amuse U! journey with the first episode of the series!
Hosted by local comic duo, Mark Lee and Vivian Lai, together with a new addition to the team - 10-year-old Lim Yong Yi, the programme gives us a hint of what our museums, the next great destination to spend our family days, have in store for us.
Though the programme is in Mandarin, there are English subtitles provided in the episodes uploaded onto yesterday.sg - so no one will be left out. Catch the four episodes today as we discover facets of the museums which we do not know of. You can find the episodes here.
