I Can Relate to This!

How many times can you blog about a visit to the museum?

We’ve featured many posts on yesterday.sg about the various things people have done and observed in their visit to the museum here, and most people usually write about their visit to the museum on one post. Well, not so with Alicesg, who’s written a massive 11-parter about her visit to the National Museum of Singapore!

Each part of her series focuses on one gallery or aspect of the museum, and her observations are formed from her knowledge of the old national museum (before the big renovation) and interspersed in her posts. For example, she remembers the spiral staircase in the old building:

“If you are an older Singaporean, you should recognize this spooky spiral staircase. I remembered when I was a child, I saw this staircase at the corner of the museum with a no entry sign. It was rumoured there were hidden secrets above. There were ghosts or mummies, etc hidden in there. But the truth was is just a staircase leading to the roof of the museum…lol.”

Can’t believe there’s so much to see at our National Museum? Check it out yourself here:

Part 1: The Architecture
Part 2: The Rotunda
Part 3: The Guide
Part 4: The Extension
Part 5: Singapore History Gallery
Part 6: More Singapore History
Part 7: Jewellery
Part 8: Food and Antiques
Part 9: In and around the museum
Part 10: Fashion
Part 11: Other uses

Maybe this will entice you to make a stop to the museum and see it with new eyes.
