3 June 1959 - the most important event in the last 50 years

To me, the most important event between 1959-2009 is 3 June 1959. 3 June 195 is when Singapore was no longer completely ruled by the British and after 1959 election, Singapore enjoyed full internal self-government. It was the day Singapore was no longer ruled by British. It was one great event that sparked Singapore. At then, Singapore had doubts but they worried for nothing.

Singapore now, 2009, had obtained much peace and harmony and everyone is excited about National day. It was the happiest time and the most difficult time. Singapore started small and not many people have faith. Singapore achieve bit by bit and with the support and help from the citizens, Singapore has became a big nation and live harmoniously and religious together.

Years after Singapore was no longer completely ruled by British, Singapore had solved many problems through thick and thin. As a new country starting to form, population grew too. Many people at that time trusted Singapore and population grew. Singapore became strong and went on to reach further more. Singapore together is one big family. Many things had happened, be it bad or good, after everything was back to normal, Singapore Citizens had stood strong and became stronger every time. It was indeed blessed to be able to have self-government. I feel proud to be a Singaporean.
