…I can be of any race knowing I will somehow fit right in
The food, the people, the heritage all set into a cultural spin
The streets are clean thanks to an ubiquitous green dustbin
The air is fresh (well, almost) as I take in the wind.

The rise and fall of the city beat
Pulsing through the world ain’t no small feat
Applauding our progress as we take our seat
Amongst the leaders, as we deem fit.

Mapped onto the world as a small red dot
As I introduced myself to others, they thought
“Are you from the south of China, or are you not?”
Till it dawned upon them did they sought
To discover Singapore is more than an ink blot.

Of multi-racial and ethnicity we are defined
Sprawled across the island we are intertwined
Yet lived in harmony we did in spite
The colours of the world unite.

Peace, security and absolute faith we carry
No worries about returning home at night a’wary
Our systems in place, we focus on progress by the many
In celebration of success, we all make merry.
