Who are these masked men who make music until the middle of the night? Why do they masks and their identities unknown? Who are these mysterious… Mysterians?

Andy has the inside scoop and reveals their identies on his 60s Pop Music blog. Why were they wearing masks in the first place? The answer is very simple:

Why the masks then? Four members of the group, including their manager, were in the civil service and since ‘moonlighting’ was not allowed, they decided to remain anonymous. The mask was a good excuse as it fitted the name of the band perfectly.

Since they were all working full time, playing music was for pleasure so the Mysterians were never interested to be pop stars. As one of them had to work shifts, the band only performed occasionally. Many gigs were turned down and they did not appear in many of the pop shows in the 60’s.
