Elephants in Sembawang

In Singapore today, there’s only one place you would see elephant - and that’s the Singapore Zoological Gardens. But not so in the 1960s - you could see elephants walking past your house, if you lived at the right place.

The place, of course, is Sembawang Hills Estate and you can see the surprising photographs of elephants being taken for a walk through Seraya Crescent. I suppose they were from the zoo?
