Do you remember Stamford Cafe?

I am writing a book on my mum and her restaurant, Stamford Cafe, which was in Bras Basah Road. It closed in 1970 or thereabouts. If it were still in existence, it would be where the present Ah Teng’s Bakery is sited in Raffles Hotel, or the passageway next to it.

It’s a small book. I am trying not to be overambitious.

Don’t ask me why I didn’t get started before she died.  (OK, OK lah, I was busy - and stupid!)

I have made a small start by putting down bits of what I remember and what she told me.

I need your help to locate former customers as well as her many friends - including a bunch of them from Citibank - who also ate there, usually for free.

Any information, any memories are welcome. Photos are especially welcome, but please do not send precious originals by post. Scan them and email them to stamfordcafe@gmail.com if possible. If not, I will be happy to arrange  to have them scanned.
