Grass cutter

If you ever wondered what the grass-cutting man uses to slice the grass with his high speed motor, well here it is:

Yes, it’s a simple plastic strip, much like what you would use to seal bags with. If you’ve ever played with radio-controlled helicopters, you’d know how dangerous those spinning blades can be moving at 3000 rpm. The same goes for grass cutters - when attached to a motor, it moves with such speed that it can slice grass like a hot knife through butter. Certainly makes grass cutting much easier than in the old days, before the motorised cutters. yg explains how grass was cut in the 1950s and 1960s.

i remember the grasscutters used a scythe or an implement like those shown in the picture below. the grasscutters would have a coarse sharpening stone and some water with him and every now and then, he would stop to sharpen the blade. in those days, the number of grasscutters in a team seldom exceeded four. there were not so many grasscutters then.
