Racial Harmony Day Carnival @ HealthZone
Date: 21 July 2010
Time: 9am – 5pm
Venue: HealthZone, Level 2, Health Promotion Board

Singapore has always prided herself on the peaceful and harmonious racial relations that we enjoy here. But did you know that not too long ago, racial riots and disunity broke the peace in Singapore? Memories of the Maria Hertogh riots still ring soundly in the minds of many of the earlier generation who witnessed the violence. More often than not, we take racial harmony for granted these days.

Come to the Racial Harmony Carnival @ HealthZone and learn about the beauty of ethnic diversity. See how the amalgamation of the cultures of different ethnic groups has lent uniqueness to the flavours of local delights. Also learn about how you can enjoy various ethnic dishes in healthier ways and taste some of these as our nutritionist demonstrates how they can be prepared (Call 1800 435 3616 to enquire on timings of demonstrations.)

Try your hand too at past-times that are long forgotten such as coconut bowling and milk-can-walking and revive those memories. Children can learn how to weave a ketupat or identify mysterious herbs and spices. You can also explore HealthZone’s healthy lifestyle exhibition centre on an adventure hunt and submit your answers in a lucky draw to win attractive prizes.

For enquires and more information, please call 1800 435 3616.
