How many readers are aware of the royal tomb in Telok Blangah? Yes, a royal mausoleum that has a very distinct connection with the founding of modern Singapore!
The royal mausoleum is run by the Johor Sultanate, as is the adjacent mosque, Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim. The premises was once the reception hall of the Temenggong of Singapore, Abdul Rahman, with whom Raffles signed a treaty for a settlement to be built here and thus the founding of modern Singapore.
