The exterior of Prince's Hotel Garni were used in the film "Saint Jack", filmed in 1978. At that time, the hotel itself was actually closed, although the restaurant and bars were still open. In the film, scenes were filmed around the front, and also a walk by Jack around the back lane. It is amazing to think that such a small, virtually disused hotel was at this prime location in Orchard Road, right up until around 1980 when it was finally demolished for the Crown Prince Hotel to be built.
