Fifty years from now I envision Singapore will be . . . . . .
A nation where its citizens do not argue and live in harmony. People will be happy with their lives, respects each other and are all friends not enemies. The poor will be richer as all citizens of Singapore are kind and generous souls. Everyone will have equal job opportunities and proper places to live in as the government at that time is very helpful.
Clean streets will replace dirty streets and everyone will have a job. Crime will decrease rapidly. The president will surpass what the last presidents had done and do even more. He or she believes that once everyone is united, nothing is impossible. The president will also hold dinners in the Istana for him or her and the ministers of the Cabinet to interact with the common folk, ensuring good communication between the leader of Singapore and its citizens. The citizens will pour out all problems regarding their neighbourhoods’ cleanliness and security and their MPs will try and solve them.
We will keep what we promised in our Pledge. Those 38 words and the flag will be greatly respected in Singapore. We will be one people and work together in times of crisis. Regardless of our race, language and religion, we will come together to build for ourselves and Singapore a democratic society which will be based on justice and equality. We will have happiness, prosperity and progress towards a better future.
