I am proud to be a Singaporean because in the early years, our forefathers strived hard for us , to bring Singapore this far. And Singapore is still striving on.

Even though Singapore is made up of various religions, we fought Sars, bird flu and H1N1, side by side and everyone is doing their part to fight these battles side by side.

Other than being a Singaporean, who else will I want to be even more? If I am not a Singaporean, I will not be able to be proud of the rich, meaningful culture and history of Singapore. If I am not a Singaporean, I would not get to see the Asian Youth Games that is going to be held here in Singapore. If I am not a Singaporean, I would not get to experience the warmth and liveliness of this bustling city. Singapore is a country, made by our ancestors’ blood and tears.

To be a Singaporean, I am honoured. For we live in peace and harmony, with the help of the government. To be a Singaporean, I am glad. For disasters and riots seldom occurs. We should be proud to be a Singaporean, and let our love for Singapore circle around the country and give it warmth and care from the deepest of our hearts. So smile and shout, that I am proud to be a Singaporean.
