I am proud to be a Singaporean because…it is a multi-racial country. Our country is filled with people who live harmoniously with each other. We are able to get along with each other, not like other countries which are always having wars or riots.

Singaporeans have a unique taste, every one of us is different. We all have our strong points and weak points. None of us despise each other just because of our different religions or races. All of us welcome anybody to Singapore, even if they are from the other side of the world. When we see each other, we wave to each other or say a friendly ‘hello’. When we are in difficulties, the people around you help you.

We also have ‘Racial Harmony Day’. The day we go to school in our different ethnic costumes and the school is filled with different people of different races wearing their own ethnic costume to show that they belong there and to Singapore. When it’s National Day, we go to school in red shirts. Walking along the road, in red, we are Singaporeans. Anyone can tell that. We are always united, a unique and special nation, even if we are one small dot, on the world map.
