I’m proud to be a Singaporean because… Singapore might be a small red dot in the map, but she is a small part of the world, it makes the world to be complete. We have gained self independence with our own hands, we have a flag of our own, we built our very own buildings, we have our own landmarks, we have our national anthem, we have our pledge and we have our very own national day. This makes Singapore different from any of the countries out there, and this makes me proud of who I am, a Singaporean.

We interacted with other countries, we helped other countries in need of help, be it tsunami attacks or earthquakes. Singapore is a small island, which has been recognized as a country, we were given a chance to hold sports events, take part in competitions and even work together with countries spread across the continents. We were given this chance because we worked hard for it, we strive our best to do what we can. Such is what makes us Singaporeans are, and we are proud of being a small citizen in a tiny island, but has big hopes, wonderful spirits and this is what we want to be, what others envied. Singapore, a small red dot, but a large country.
