Unless you’ve been buried under layers and layers of pumice, you may have heard of a brilliant exhibition currently on at the National Museum of Singapore – Pompeii, Life in a Roman Town 79CE which is about people being buried under layers and layers of pumice.

The exhibition, featuring the excavations of the roman city of Pompeii which was destroyed when the nearby Mt Vesuvius erupted and covered the city under its pyroclastic flow. Centuries later, modern archaeologists excavating for the ancient Pompeii discovered that the ash from the volcano had completely preserved the city, down to the last actions of its people in the now-famous body casts of people and animals in their final stages of death.
Seriously Sarah recently visited the exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore and blogs about it here. The exhibition is on until January 23, so there’s not much time to catch it, and you can read more about it here.
