Some of our readers will remember a school near Bukit Timah called Boy’s Town – some of you might even remember being threatened with being shipped off to Boy’s Town if you were naughty! Peter Chan was one such alumnus of Boy’s Town (not that he was a naughty boy!), and he guest blogs on Good Morning Yesterday about his memories of the former Assumption English School.

The Assumption English School at Upper Bukit Timah Road was originally known as Boys’ Town English School, a name which carried a tag for many students including myself. To those who come from my generation or earlier, the name was synonymous with delinquents and juveniles.
