Ever since it was featured in the news last year, more and more people have been paying visits to Singapore’s last kampong for a glimpse of life in the recent past. Unscheduled rain didn’t deter one such visitor, Jinghui, from making a visit in August.
Jinghui writes:
“Hiking back into the heart of Kampung Lorong Buangkok, we photographed the wooden houses, nicely repainted yet retaining her history and aura, a blend of modern and traditional, coming together in this wonderful kampung. Beautiful gardens and flowers, peaceful and tranquil, just metres away from the modern and fast paced life of Singapore. The rain came pouring back and it really became a bit more difficult, nevertheless, we continued our photography walkabout inside Kampung Lorong Buangkok.”
