This video clip produced by the National Archives of Singapore (NAS) documents the memories relating to the Tanjong Pagar and Bukit Timah Railway Stations. Although both stations have ceased operations with effect from 1 July 2011, they are important components of Singapore’s rail transportation and since the 1920s, they have connected generations of people in Malaysia and Singapore.

Visit our Moving Image and Sound Archives Singapore (MISAS) database under our online finding aid Access to Archives Online for more video clips and information about our past video documentation projects.

Our Sound and Moving Image Laboratory undertakes video documentation of changing landscapes, landmark events, people and old places in Singapore as part of our audiovisual archives programme. These documentations are usually carried out in partnership with the public, private and people sectors. We invite you to explore our MISAS and we welcome any feedback from you.
