Museums have often been misunderstood to be too profound for children. Now, children are turning the misconception on its head by taking the lead in becoming cultural ambassadors for museums. Through I Can Guide!, a unique two-day museum guiding workshop conducted by HandsonLearning Strategies and organised by the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM), participants (aged 10-12 years old) gained invaluable knowledge on the diverse cultures of Southeast Asia and learnt guiding etiquette during the school holidays.

I certainly have to admit that I take my hat off to these impressive young adults!

Fluent in Cantonese, Teochew and Hokkien, Damian was able to connect with his dialet speaking audience right from the start. All the 30 odd participants managed to created beautiful floral designs within an hour. Which shows that floral design is not as difficult as I initially thought!

Papers are cheap and easily available. Papers are also an important part of our everyday lives. The minutes, reports and school assignments we spend hours to churn out are all printed on paper before submission. Not forgetting the newspapers, magazines and books we read everyday. If someone in your office threw away a huge stack of paper printed on only one side, you will find yourself shaking your head and saying, “Do you know how many trees you are cutting down?” Yet, have you ever wondered how paper is treated using modern technology?
