Yes folks, it’s time to play name that place, the Times of My Life edition.
This is a very old photo taken by my father who used to love photography in his younger days. This place should be near Merdeka Bridge, Guillemard Road or the old un-named road now called Stadium Boulevard; not sure at all? Anyone knows?

The place is called Kallang Park, re-named as Kallang Boulevard. The road shown is actually the runaway of Kallang Airport. The fountain in the picture served as a traffic round-about. There is a road on the right hand side (cannot be seen in the picture) called Jalan Benaan Kapal which leads to a number of shipyards. At the far end on the right hand side is the place where the National Stadium now stand.
