Kenne and I dropped by Singapore Art Museum to check out Telah Terbit (Out Now) and All the Best.
We don’t know if it was intentional, but the two exhibitions currently on show evoke totally contrasting emotions.
Telah Terbit (Out Now) charts the progression of Southeast Asian artists as they explore themes of empathy and rejection.
We loved most of the pieces in this gallery…
cos they were:
Freaky,

Jim Supangkat
Kamar Ibu Dan Anak
1979 (Reconstructed in 2006)
made us sleepy,

Rantai yan Santai (Chain)
FX Harsono
1975
and Sexy
Other pieces which caught our eye include:
Dede Eri Supria
Urbanisasi
1977/2006
Pratuang Emjaroen
Red Morning-Glory and Rotten Gun
1976
and

Jose Tence Ruiz
Erding Erdrayb and His Scene-Stealing Palace
1980

All the Best, on the other hand, was (mostly) cheery and bright.
We really liked Zaha Hadid‘s installation art which we felt complimented the exhibition really well.
I was personally interested in checking our Karen Kilimnik’s work as I loved her piece on Patti Boyd.
I was pleased to find this piece which mentioned a member of the Rolling Stones.
