After receiving a booklet on the Bukit Timah Heritage Trail, Chun See of Good Morning Yesterday (and denizen of Bukit Timah for the last 23 years) takes a leaf out of the proverbial book to blog about some other sites in Bukit Timah that didn’t make it into the book.
(that’s not to say that the Bukit Timah Heritage Trail book is bad! On the contrary, it’s been getting really good reviews)

I suppose that, owing to the lack of space, the authors had to leave out many places along this very old part of Singapore. So I am sure they will not mind my mentioning just a few of what I think they should have included in the brochure. Anyhow, my friend Peter and I are thinking of writing a series of articles here to supplement the information contained in the booklet. But we are still at the planning stage.OK. Here are my thoughts of some of the places that should have been included.
Which places are those? You’ll just have to read his full post here.

haha thanks for highlighting the BT trail and Chun See’s blog. Im glad to hear that the trail has received good reviews. Both Chun See and Peter contributed very much to the oral history of the trail and they are quoted in the booklet too!
But indeed, it’s just a highlights tour. Unfortunately, because Bukit Timah is such a long road, we had to leave out a lot of good stuff or it won’t be a booklet but a book!
Maybe Chun See and Peter can work on a book of BT instead!

Hi Micamonkey. Thanks for sending me the booklets. I sent 1 copy to Tom O’Brien of Memories of Spore and he said he will bring it to their next get-together.
Peter and I are building on the foundation that you have laid. We have just posted another article on BT Trail. This time covering Floral Mile to Newton Circus. Next one will probably cover Newton Circus to Tekka. Would be good if you could highlight this to your young friends at NJC. Thanks.

Sorry. Forgot to mention. Tom O’Brien used to live at Hua Guan Ave. That’s why he has interest in that part of BT.

Sadly I am no longer in touch with the students from NJC. I’m now back in NUS doing my Masters.
It’s really quite unfortunate that the trail booklet only covers 4th-9th milestone. There were so many things beyond and within that I wished I could have included. oh well that’s why you and peter and everybody at yesterday.sg are so important!
