Veron visits the Chek Jawa Wetlands – since the boardwalk was installed last year, the wetlands are more accessible to public. Although, you should still visit during the low tide because there’s much more to see!

on to chek jawa wetlands! we had to go there by van, coursing through narrow roads where tree canopies from one side of the road frequently joined those from the other. we passed by a few abandoned granite quarries along the way. this is actually how the island got its name in the first place. pulau ubin literally means “granite island” in malay.
Check out Veron’s post, as well as other really good photos here.

Hi, does anyone knows if the visit to Chek Jawa must be accompanied by the volunteer guides or can the visitor proceed on their own to the mudflats? Info appreciated and thanks in advance.
