Open House!

Posted by yesterday.sg

If you’re somewhat enamoured with the first residential estate built entirely on reclaimed land, appreciate art and enjoy checking out cool living spaces, you have to give OH! (Open House) a go!

This year’s edition is an art walkabout through the Marine Parade heartlands. Visitors will explore the neighbourhood, and discover insider secrets like the Bridge of Love, dolphin sightings and earthquakes. Along the way, you’ll get to enter 6 flats transformed into art exhibition spaces.

We tagged along for the volunteer guides briefing for this weekend’s OH! (Open House) and it was great fun.

Some of the works we really enjoyed include…

Jes Brinch’s installation which saw one of the owner’s rooms literally turned upside down.

Yen Lin Teng’s drawing installation at a HDB staircase landing where the images come to life only from certain angles.

And finally, a young couple’s home which is a veritable art gallery.

OH! (Open House) happens this weekend (8 & 9 Jan 11) and the next (15 & 16 Jan 11) from 4 – 8pm, with tickets on sale at $10 at Marine Parade CC.

Do wear sensible shoes as there’ll be lots of walking. :) Also, keep an eye on our I Love Museums Facebook page for free ticket giveaways for next weekend’s session.
