It looks like things are coming to full circle at Punggol Point where development is turning it into a food and beverage hub. What do I mean? This northeast edge of Singapore was the cradle of the Punggol seafood industry and ground zero for the Punggol Mee Goreng.

Punggol point is pretty high on the ‘ulu’ meter – it is still accessed by a narrow two-lane road. yg visits Punggol Point today and reminds us what it was like 30 years ago – the seafood restaurants were supported by a bustling fisherman market. The point was also a recreational destination, with a public campsite and watersport. I wonder if this development will bring back Punggol Point’s heyday.
