This, unfortunately isn’t Tashah, but the person behind the camera. Hey everyone, Zaidah here. In case you are wondering who this Zaidah is, I am the person behind the camera. Due to Tashah’s busy life, in a special and rare occasion, I have to step in to share with you, my thoughts on kampong glam.

The Kampong Glam episode was a fun shot. We met really friendly people, had amazing food and we learned something new. Before we did our production on the place, my perception of Kampong Glam has always been just a place for tourist to soak in the rich history and get a glimpse of the Malay ethnic population. The only time I would come to Kampong Glam would be to eat! But now when I step into Kampong Glam, it is more than just a place to get delicious food. Though I am craving for that Soto Ayam at Kampong Glam Cafe right now.
Our first stop for the shot was at the Malay Heritage Centre. To begin with, the place was sort of quiet and creepy. There wasn’t a lot of people around and the place was just giving me a weird scary vibe. But then again, museums are always scary when there aren’t anyone around. It was a fun interesting stop to retrace my culture and traditions.

All in all, it was a great trip down to Kampong Glam. Its rich history, people and scrumptious food are what makes this part of Singapore so unique. So the next time you head down to Kampong Glam for a bite, remember to also take a bite at its heritage.
That is all I have, I hope my insights didn’t bore you guys. Let’s just hope that my appearance on this journal will be a one time thing.
