Check out our Heritage TV’s latest online journal entry about the Singapore Biennale episode.

Held every two years, the Singapore Biennale is one of Singapore’s most prestigious art events that dedicates itself to delivering the practice of contemporary art to the public.
Featuring over 60 artists from 30 countries and held at four different venues namely at Singapore Art Museum (SAM) & SAM 8Q, National Museum of Singapore, Old Kallang Airport and Marina Bay, each venue provides a unique experience.
Into its third edition, the Singapore Biennale Festival, which is themed ‘Open House’, attempts to invite the public to ‘examine the artistic process and their links to the daily transactions that take place between people’.
It provides a myriad of opportunities to see the world in a whole new perspective and does indeed spur creativity in our minds.
The Biennale is a rare opportunity for Singaporeans to reflect on fond memories at each exhibition venue while appreciating the works there. In doing so, the Biennale encourages interactivity between the public and the arts by helping them see that art can indeed create boundless possibilities.
It was truly an eye-opening experience for me that not only allowed me to appreciate contemporary art more but also be able to learn a lot more about the history of Singapore and the stories that lies behind it at each exhibition venue.
Conservation of heritage places and heritage itself in Singapore is important especially for a multi-cultural society country like ours that has a lot to offer in generations to come.
Our team at HTV would like to help relive those moments of nostalgia for you guys. If you have a place in mind or an event that you guys want us to cover for our last episode send us your request to yesterdaysg@gmail.com or www.facebook.com/ilovemuseums. We will be looking forward to hear from you.
