Fashion is like art, so they say. I think of late, couture designers have taken a few or more inspiration from art. Fashion is not about a simple designer dress or bags anymore, it’s about self-expression. What better way to show your individuality through art? Case in point? Shoes that are architectural, towering and impossible to walk in; Or, clothes that convey a message, make a statement or are structurally composed.

Mary Katrantzou Spring/Summer 2011 collection had me pining. It was impossibly beautiful and creative. I think they deserve a space in the museum, don’t you agree?

Crazy shoes that make the world gasp and wonder, “How does anyone walk in that?”.

In comparison, I am a simple dresser who loves simple, clean lines. The weather in Singapore does not really permit much fashion choices. My most daring and crazy piece of fashion? This maxi black dress with lace cutouts!
