Derek Tait posts a short piece about driving in Singapore in the 1960s:
This photo reminds me of when we used to take the car across the causeway from home in Johore to Singapore. Singapore would be very busy with cars, lorries, scooters, push bikes and buses. They all seemed to drive down the middle of the road although they were meant to drive on the left as we do in England. It was great fun just watching everyone.
Though some might complain about the traffic today, I highly doubt that it’s on par with the chaos we see in the streets of some of our neighbouring countries – but the scenes we see there are probably what Derek was describing in the 1960s. Read about it here.
