Stamped Separation Anxiety

Singapore’s Separation from Malaysia in 1965 was a momentous event in both countries’ national history, and we often read about how the decision was quite dramatic and even traumatic on both sides. But, some aspects of life still had to go on, as Wee Kiat illustrates through stamps on ReTRIeVIA:


One would expect that separating from Malaysia politically on August 9, 1965, Singapore would make all haste to become independent in all other matters. It would also be reasonable to assume that the separation would have resulted in great enmity. This was not so.

    Very interesting topic on anxiety… never seen before. I always felt that to get to the bottom of curing anything, we must trace it’s roots and history. Great content… way to think outside of the box!…
