Swimming pools are a mark of luxury. If you were rich, you’d have a swimming pool in your condo. If you were really rich, you’d have a swimming pool in your own backyard. But for most of us, our encounter with swimming would be in the public swimming pool. yg explores the evolution of Singapore’s public swimming complexes and how it has changed from then to now.

those days, there were not so many restrictions. you could take your beach ball, the tube-float and any floatation device into the pool. however, the pools were so crowded that, if you were a serious swimmer, you could hardly swim a breadth without knocking into somebody or having sombody swim into your path.

Hi,
I believe that Singapore Public Swimming Pools is part of every Singaporean cherished memory and historic icon.
I still remember very fondly of my first swimming lessons at the public pool and participate actively in Swimming Competition Carnival where you can win prizes.
Recently, I went to Sengkang Swimming Pool. It is very modern with integrated mini big splash.
Parents can bring their small children there to relive the good old days of swimming memories again!

For me, all public pools must have restrictions on using their pools, this is for the safety of the pool users and to avoid accidents especially for the children.
I believe that this changes made to Singapore public pools are for the better.
