From Channel NewsAsia – A new Army Museum is being prepared to mark 40 years of National Service and will showcase Singapore’s military heritage.
The Army Museum of Singapore is being readied to mark the 40th anniversary of National Service in Singapore.It will help preserve the heritage of the Singapore Army and also honour the contributions of the soldiers.
“National Service will feature prominently in the Army Museum. National Servicemen form the backbone of the SAF. They are a central feature in the Army’s history. NS is an integral part of the lives of Singaporeans, a rite of passage for our men,” said Mr Teo.
The Army Museum of Singapore will be housed in a new three-storey building near the SAFTI Military Institute and Singapore Discovery Centre in Jurong.
