Karrot Juice’s entertaining visit to the Peranakan Museum, featuring the 12-day Peranakan wedding and the funeral rites.

The Conversations gallery allowed visitors to pick up telephones to listen to sketches of conversations made in Peranakan lingo, which is an interesting mix of Malay, Chinese dialect and English. Oh, by the way, if you are keen to learn about the unique Peranakan lingo, go to this site and click on the ‘Lingo’ tab on the left column. My favourite term would have to be pantat ayam, which literally means chicken ass. But it a term for someone who talks non-stop. Hehe!
See some really entertaining pictures at Carrot Asylum.
