Free entry to National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Art Museum, Peranakan Museum and Singapore Philatelic Museum in celebration of the opening of the Circle Line!
In order to promote the new Circle Line’s role in connecting Singaporeans to the arts, NHB will be granting free admission to the above four museums on 4 April 2010.
Aside from checking out the exhibits at the museums, be sure to drop by our “I Love Museum” road show at the Bras Basah Station. There will be balloon sculptors, live demonstrations by SCAPE artists and more! Beyond Singapore’s stunning urban landscape is a secret, crazy and fun artsy scene, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Sir Stamford Raffles, Little Nonya, Samsui Women and other historical characters when travelling on the trains and touring the stations.

Monument Walkabout – Off the Circle Line, fall in the Monument Line!
Join the Monument Walking Tour conducted by our Preservation of Monuments Board staff and hear stories about the Singapore Art Museum (former St Joseph’s Institution), National Museum of Singapore, and The Peranakan Museum (former Tao Nan School).
Meet our tour leader at the following museums at these times (each tour lasts about 1 hour):

Discover and learn about contemporary art at Classic Contemporary: Contemporary Southeast Asia Art and FX Harsono: Testimonies, a survey show of Indonesia’s foremost contemporary artists who played a pivotal role in the development of contemporary art in Indonesia.

Peranakan Museum
Opening Hours: 9.30am – 7pm (Activities from 1 – 5pm)
Come join us at the Peranakan Museum for Straits Family Sunday, a four-hour workshop FREE for you and your family. It includes a craft activity, a chance to dress up, a tour* component and a whole lot more! Get creative as you make your own photo frames using ice cream sticks, beads, paper and other materials. Personalise your photo frame with Peranakan-flavored motifs and while at the museum, do not forget to go on our Special Symbols tour where you can discover the meaning behind these motifs.
*The 15-minute tour is geared for children aged 6 to 8 years old.

Singapore Philatelic Museum invites visitors to discover the world through the simple yet sophisticated postage stamp! A great place for families and children looking for an enjoyable yet educational experience!

Graffiti Art Workshop @ dbl O

Art Trove

Catch the works of Strawalde (Jürgen Bötcher), a living artist with an avid following in Germany at Art Trove. From Sep 2010, German Expressionist, Ewald Platte’s (1884-1985) works will be on display. Platte exhibited his works alongside Picasso, Nolde, Matisse, Jawlensky, Kandinsky, Klee and Feininger in the 1920s.
