Two sincere documentaries by local filmmaker, Eng Yee Peng to capture her lost childhood in Lim Chu Kang.

31-year-old Eng Yee Peng was a resident of Lim Chu Kang kampong before the plot of land was cleared for redevelopment.

Gone were those good old kampong days, but her childhood memories remained fresh.

She has made a bold move, to preserve her memories of her lost childhood and the transformation of Lim Chu Kang. Diminishing Memories I & II are two independent documentaries by the filmmaker, Eng Yee Peng, a tribute to her lost childhood in Lim Chu Kang.

Follow this filmmaker’s personal journey in her attempt to preserve her fading memories and her struggle in letting her beloved kampong go and coming to terms with the reality, the kampung spirit gone and the physical state of her once-familiar playground, Lim Chu Kang changed.

Walk down memory lane and catch these two thought-provoking and intimate films at the inaugural public screenings of Diminishing Memories I & II at The Arts House this September till November.

Both films are narrated in Mandarin and subtitled in English, with interviews conducted in Chinese, English and the Teochew dialect. The filmmaker will be present for the Q & A session after the screenings.

These films have been screened at numerous international film festivals and have received great reviews from the foreign and local media. A must-watch for anyone keen on heritage or have lived through the kampong days.
