Free museum entry for senior citizens

Posted by yesterday.sg

snr-citizens-tour-2From today, senior citizens (Singaporeans and Permanent Residents) aged 60 and above can visit all NHB museums – with the exception of the Singapore Philatelic Museum, for free.

This move by the National Heritage Board is to give due recognition to our seniors for all their hard work and dedication to the nation.

Said NHB’s CEO Michael Koh: “We hope seniors will bring their children and grandchildren with them on their museum visits. As seniors who have lived through much of Singapore’s growing years, they will be able to share their experiences with their families, providing another dimention to the exhibits in our museums.”

The NHB museums offering free entry every day are:

  • Asian Civilisations Museum 1 Empress Place
  • Memories at Old Ford Factory 351 Upper Bukit Timah Road
  • National Museum of Singapore 93 Stamford Road
  • Peranakan Museum 39 Armenian Street
  • Reflections at Bukit Chandu 31-K Pepys Road
  • Singapore Art Museum 71 Bras Basah Road
  • 8Q sam 8 Queen Street

The Singapore Philatelic Museum (SPM) at 23-B Coleman Street, offers free entry for such seniors every Monday.

These special entry arrangements apply to permanent exhibitions only.

For non-Singaporean and PR seniors, NHB will offer a 50% discount to all its museums except SPM. That museum is charging $4 to all senior citizens aged 60 and above every day except Monday when it is free entry for local and PR seniors.
