Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay presents the eighth edition of Baybeats, one of Singapore’s biggest and most anticipated alternative music festivals, featuring free performances by 34 bands from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, The Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Australia, UK, and USA. From 28 – 30 August, the three-day celebration of free performances will feature a diverse variety of sounds such as post-rock, punk, emo, electro, indie-pop and hard rock.

To encourage our local and international artists to deepen their engagement with each other, Baybeats will also see several collaborations between local indie bands and international musicians. Kevin Mathews from Watchmen (back-up vocals and guitar), Desmond Sim (drums) and Eugene Wee (bass) from Lilac Saints will be playing with international artist Chris Collingwood – lead singer of Fountains of Wayne, while up and coming young musicians Brian Koh (bass) and Mark Cheng (drums) from Leeson will back Scottish artist Ally Kerr up during his set at the Outdoor Theatre.
